Bright straw-yellow colour with pale gold tints and some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with aromatic white stonefruits along with peaches and hints of honeysuckle with lifted savoury florals, and a taut core of steely minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has elegant, intensely penetrating flavours of white and yellow stonefruits along with savoury florals and hints of honeysuckle and mineral detail. The mouthfeel is fresh, zesty and steely with bright acidity, and the palate has good linearity, flowing along a light, phenolic line, leading to a lingering dry finish with a little textural grip. This is a fresh and lively dry Pinot Gris with good depth and intensity of steely stonefruit flavours with honeysuckle notes. Match with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese fare over the next 2-3 years. Hand-picked Kumeu fruit, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.5% alc. and 4.4 g/L RS, the wine given extended maturation on lees. 17.5+/20
